We bring the region's brightest independent artisans, creators, and entrepreneurs together under one roof. Born from the town's ambitious Community Business Launch (CBL) program and made possible by a generous $75,000 grant from Virginia's Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), The Nest has proudly transformed the historically significant, former hardware store downtown into a vibrant hub for innovation. Following our grand opening on May 12th, 2026, we are officially open and ready to welcome you!
Our Story & Vision
Building on the incredible success of the 2024/2025 Mount Jackson 5 Grant Program, "MJ5: The Nest" was designed to directly address the critical need for accessible, supportive commercial spaces for aspiring entrepreneurs.
This beautifully repurposed, adaptable space now houses nearly 14 small businesses, including four brand-new ventures from our MJ5 2025 program. By providing individual micro-retail spaces and booths within a highly collaborative environment, we are:

Revitalizing Downtown: Significantly boosting foot traffic on Main Street to benefit both our incubator participants and our wonderful existing neighboring establishments.

Our curated marketplace strategically features artisan retail, specialty food & beverage, service-based businesses, and experiential retail designed to capitalize on tourism and showcase the absolute best of Mount Jackson.
