What We Do:
The Planning Commission advises the Town Council on all matters related to the growth and development of land and structures within Mount Jackson. This includes everything from zoning regulations – how land can be used – to long-range planning, which looks at the bigger picture of our town's future needs and how we can best meet them. The Planning Commission considers the impact of new development on our community, infrastructure, and environment, striving to balance progress with preserving the character and charm of Mount Jackson that we all cherish.

The Planning Commission is comprised of local residents who are passionate about Mount Jackson. One member of the Town Council also serves on the Commission, providing a vital link between the two bodies. The other Commissioners are appointed by the Council and are your neighbors, your friends, and fellow community members.
