Plan Mini Celebrations Through 2026! From our big kick-off with a BICENTENNIAL BASH with the Mount Jackson Museum in January, to highlighting our history during Black History Month & Women's History Month, your creative ideas are welcome! Help us sprinkle celebrations throughout the year!
Facilitate the 200th Mural Mosaic! Got a flair for community engagement and big projects? Help rally the town to create a beautiful, lasting piece of art for the town!
Celebrate Community Stories & Share History! Help create opportunities for generational sharing and preserving the unique narratives that make Mount Jackson special.
Downtown Walking Tour Development! Help us literally walk through history! We need volunteers to:
- Pull local research together.
- Identify 10+ key historic locations in downtown MJ.
- Design the physical signage to tell the stories of our Historic District.
- Promote our amazing self-guided walking tour!
Complementing the Nation's 250th! Shenandoah County is highlighting our history in partnership with the nation turning 250 in 2026—we want Mount Jackson to shine!
