MOUNT JACKSON, VA – Get ready for a new Saturday tradition that hits all the right notes. The Town of Mount Jackson is cranking up the volume this spring with the debut of Junk & Jams, a monthly high-energy market designed to be the ultimate community circuit for Shenandoah County.
Starting Saturday, April 11, 2026, Mayor’s Park will transform into a vibrant "Flea, Farm, and Folk" market. Junk & Jams isn't your average market—it’s where the garden meets the groove, blending the grit of a vintage flea market with the freshness of a farmers’ market, all fueled by an upbeat soundtrack. THINK: rust, roots and rhythm! Junk & Jams will be held 9am-1pm, second Saturdays, April through September.
A Vision for Community Connection: This isn't just a place to shop; it’s going to grow into a town-wide movement. Junk & Jams is designed to be the ultimate Saturday morning hangout—a place to grab a coffee, discover a one-of-a-kind treasure, and catch up with neighbors and grab some fresh farm finds.
"We wanted to create an event that feels like the best kind of backyard party," says Greg Beam, Mount Jackson’s Assistant Town Manager. "It’s about that classic small-town energy where you can shop for fresh produce or vintage finds but stay for the music and the company. It’s a space to just hang out, meet up with friends, and celebrate the creative, connected vibe that makes Mount Jackson so special."
The Seasonal Groove: Themes & The "Theme De-Bunk": While each month features a curated "Vibe" to guide the music and give the "Vibe Tribe" a fun excuse to dress up, the Town wants to clear the air: the themes are just a suggestion for the "flavor" of the day. Junk & Jams is always a full-throttle jumble where you could easily find "all the things, all the weeks."
